Leadership Revisited

Published by Tori Angel on

Leadership is the foundation of every team and organization. There are many leaders who have the natural instinct to lead and still try their best to learn and grow. There are others who have potential they do not yet see. There are others who have bad habits and learned negative ideals from others. So that brings us to the question: how are you training your leaders?

As our students and our circumstances change, we need to change the way we are training our leaders. We have made a leadership book study based on the book The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon that has a student workbook with virtual and in-person activities described for the leader of the book study. There are also supportive questions for directors to help drive home the points for the students and a video discussing how effect questioning can propel students in the right direction compared to lecturing them on points.

If you have read this book, you know that it mainly focuses on businesses and adult leaders. It touches on topics like how to achieve buy-in from your group, how your mindset can change any situation, and how a collective goal and work ethic can lead to great success in a team. We have created stories and summaries that high school leaders can find relatable to drive home similar points that adult leaders take from the book.

We also offer a staff member leading the book study with you and your students over Zoom. After completing a session with our first school, we have heard how students are taking new roles in their groups to move forward their shared vision and ideas.
